The (Passover) Lamb of GOD

Exodus 12.13 and when I see the blood, I will pass over you.

John 1.28. These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.  29.  The next day John seeth JESUS coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of GOD, which taketh away the sin[1] of the world[2].  30.  This is He of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for He was before me.  31.  And I knew Him not: but that He should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

The Baptism of JESUS

The Jordan River ca 26 A. D.

Luke 3.21.  Now when all the people were baptized

Matthew 3. 13.  Then cometh JESUS from (Nazareth of) [3]Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.

Matthew 3.14.  But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

 15.  And JESUS answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness[4]. Then he suffered him.

GOD Calls Jesus His SON

Matthew 3.16. [5] And JESUS, when He was baptized, went up straightway out of the water:

( praying) [6]and, lo, the Heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the SPIRIT OF GOD descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:[7]

17.  And lo (there came) [8]a voice from Heaven[9], saying, (Thou art)[10] This is my Beloved[11] SON, in whom I AM well pleased.

John the Baptist Identifies the SON of GOD

John 1. 32.  And John bare record, saying, I saw the SPIRIT descending from Heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

 33.  And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the HOLY GHOST.

  34.  And I saw, and bare record that this is the SON of GOD.

Luke 3.22b And JESUS Himself began to be about thirty years of age[12]…..(See Luke's Genealogy of JESUS)

John the Baptist Imprisoned

( Luke 3. 19.  But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias his brother Philip’s wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done,  20.  Added yet this above all, that he shut up John in prison.) See John Imprisoned. [13]

The Beginning of the Ministry of JESUS

The Tests of the SON OF GOD

Wilderness ca 27 A. D.

Driven or Led by the Spirit into the Wilderness

Luke 4.  1.  And JESUS being full of the HOLY GHOST returned from Jordan, and was led by the SPIRIT…

Mark 1.12.  And immediately the SPIRIT driveth[14] him into the wilderness.

Mark 1.13 (JESUS)[15] was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of (the Devil)[16] Satan[17], and was with the wild beasts…[18]

Luke 4.2 And in those days He did eat nothing: and when they were ended, He afterward hungered.  3.  And the devil (the tempter)[19] said unto him, If thou be the SON of GOD, command this stone that it be made bread.[20]  4.  And JESUS answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone[21], but by every word of GOD[22].

 5.  And the devil, taking him up into an (exceeding) [23] high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world (and the glory of them) [24] in a moment of time.  6.  And the Devil said unto him, All this power (these things) [25]will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.  7.  If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.[26]

 8.  And JESUS answered and said unto him, Get thee  (hence) [27]behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the LORD thy GOD, and him only shalt thou serve.[28]

 9.  And he brought him to Jerusalem, (the Holy City) [29]and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the SON of GOD, cast[30] thyself down from hence:  10.  For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:[31]

 11.  And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.[32]

12.  And JESUS answering said unto him, It is said, (written again)
