The Godly Man and Woman

Compassionate  Romans 12. 15.  Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

Esteems the other to be better than themself. Philippians 2. 3.  Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Colossians 2. 2.  That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love,

Forgives and forgets. Colossians 3. 13.  Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

Gentle and kind 1 Thessalonians 2. 7.  But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:

Hearts of gratitude . 1 Thessalonians 5. 18.  In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Serve God acceptably. Hebrews 12. 28.  Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

Hospitable. Hebrews 13. 2.  Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Do not prejudge others. James 2.  1.  My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

Is Holy. 14.  As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:  15.  But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

 16.  Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 17.  And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

Love others. 1 Peter 1. 22.  Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

Patient. 1 Peter 2. 20.  For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.  21.  For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

1 Peter 4. 12.  Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:  13.  But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 14.  If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 15.  But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.

 16.  Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

Fellowship in the Lord.  1 John 1.7.  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

True Love

1 Corinthians 13

 1.  Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (agape unconditional love) , I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

 2.  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

 3.  And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

 4.  Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

 5.  Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

 6.  Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

 7.  Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

 8.  Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

 9.  For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

 10.  But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

 11.  When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

 12.  For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

 13.  And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Keeps pure

1 Corinthians 6. 18.  Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

 19.  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

 20.  For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

1 Corinthians 7. 4.  The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.

 5.  Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

James 1. 27.  Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

The Godly Man

Matthew 7. 24.  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

 25.  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.  26.  And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:  27.  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Steps to success

Titus 2. 13.  Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;  14.  Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Titus 2.  11.  For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12.  Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Titus 3. 8.  This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4.  For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5.  Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

A good prayer for our children

Colossians 1. 9.  For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;  10.  That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11.  Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; 12.  Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13.  Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14.  In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15.  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16.  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17.  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18.  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19.  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; 20.  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. 21.  And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22.  In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

Raise them up in church

Pray and believe for their salvation

1 Kings 18. 41. for there is a sound of abundance of rain.  42.  So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees. Elijah knew who gave rain and who withheld it, as well as every blessing. Pray believing today for something so far you have never had the answer. Believe it. And wait for the manifestation of it.

Psalm 84.11. For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.
